Phalsbourg-Bourscheid military base contains a memorial commemorating US service-members.
Take the A33 SW from Nancy. Keep on it when it turns into the N333 and the N4, heading W then NE. Just before crossing the A4 turn W on the D38 through Mittelbronn. In the town ask for permission to enter the base. DO NOT enter the base unless authorized by military personnel from the French 1st Helicopter Attack Regiment, preferably an officer
In memory of Operation Desert Storm, the monument bears the regimental insignia and the following inscription:
1 RHC DAGUET (France's operation)
11 US AVN BDE (11th US Army Aviation Brigade)
AS SALMAN
IRAK 1991
