A farmer's field by the railroad tracks.
Take the D177 south from Rennes then turn east on the D777 and D772. After crossing La Vilaine turn south on Rue du Bois Jacquelin, La Binoterie and Treguily. Follow the latter south along the train tracks until it comes to a T. Cross over the tracks and turn immediately south and then take the first left east then the first right south.
The US B-17 "Battlin' Bobbie" crashed here on 09-16-1943
The entire crew managed to bail out
Escaped : Elton Hoyt III pilot, Norman Schroeder copilot, William Cook navigator, Louis Glickman bombardier, Herbert Dulberg radio, William Miller gunner, Harry Minor gunner, Edward Shaffer gunner.
POW : John Thomas gunner, Russel Eldridge gunner.
