January 13, 1908: the pilot Henri Farman took off on his biplane Voisin, for the Grand Prix of the kilometer in closed circuit, organized by the sponsors Archdeacon and Deutsch de la Meurthe.
He flew over the starting line, turned 544 meters farther and landed 1 minute 28 seconds later. A success!
He proved us that a plane could take off, tum around and land where the pilot wanted.
