The exterior wall of a house on the southern side of the Clainville Road holds a plaque honoring a downed American air crew.
Take the N13 NW from Bayeux to Sainte-Mere-Eglise and then the D67 SW. Continue on the D70. At the Clairville-Montessy fork in the road follow the signs to Montessy. At the northern edge of town on the Clainville road (left before the calvary) the plaque is located on the southern side of the road.
At this location nineteen American servicemen gave their lives for freedom
