The entrance gate to the Chateau de Francquetot.
Take the N13 SE from Cherbourg to the Airborne Museum then the D67 SW to Cretteville then the D223 SW to the Chateau de Francquetot.
Chateau de Francquetot and grounds provided welcome living quarters for the 406th Fighter Group United States Army Air Force 17 August - 3 September 1944. This base was designated A-14. This plaque presented by former members of the 406th Fighter Group.
